2012: Tony Scott, director

Perhaps best known for his work on the iconic film "Top Gun," Tony Scott jumped to his death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro Aug. 19, 2012. Law enforcement sources said officials who looked inside the car he left behind determined that it belonged to the famed movie director and producer. A note listing contact information was in the car. A suicide note was later found in his office. Its contents were not revealed. Scott was married three times and had twin sons with his third wife, actress and model Donna Wilson.
