Oscars 2015: Academy to announce nominations Jan. 15; other dates set

Nominations for the 2015 Oscars will be revealed Jan. 15, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Thursday along with other key dates for next year’s ceremony.

The 2015 Oscars will take place Feb. 22, as the Academy announced last year, and now the rest of the timeline has fallen into place.

The Governors Awards will take place Nov. 8, nomination voting will run from Dec. 29 to Jan. 8, the nominees’ luncheon will be held Feb. 2, the Oscars for scientific and technical achievements will be handed out Feb. 7, and final voting will run from Feb. 6 to Feb. 17.

The Feb. 22 date for next year’s Oscars is tied with the 2009 show for the earliest in the calendar year since 1932.

The Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and televised by ABC.
