On the heels of “Spotlight” winning the Academy Award for best picture, another journalistic thriller will open Turner Classic Movies’s 7th annual TCM Classic Film Festival on April 28. The screening of “All the President’s Men” marks the 40th anniversary of the Alan J. Pakula’s film, which starred Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman and won four Oscars, including one for William Goldman’s adaptation of the Bob Woodward-Carl Bernstein bestseller.

The festival runs through May 1 and features appearances by Carl Reiner (“Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid”), Elliott Gould (“M*A*S*H,” “The Long Goodbye”) and Eva Marie Saint (“The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming”).

Filmmaker John Singleton presents a 25th anniversary screening of his urban coming-of-age drama “Boyz N the Hood,” which earned him Oscar nominations for director and screenplay written directly for the screen.
