“I’m just a man hiding in the corner with a camera--watching.” That’s what Alfred Hitchcock says about himself at the start of the new trailer for “Hitchcock,” director Sacha Gervasi’s look at the acclaimed director’s making of 1960’s “Psycho.”

A late addition to the Academy Awards race, Nov. 23’s “Hitchcock” stars Anthony Hopkins as the British auteur and Helen Mirren as his wife, Alma Reville.

The movie is as interested in the couple’s marriage as it is Hitchcock’s confidence crisis.

Fearful that other directors are proving more daring, Hitchcock decides to make his most provocative picture yet--”Something fresh, something different”--mortgaging his home to pay for it when Paramount Pictures refuses to finance “Psycho.”

As history proves, Hitchcock’s betting on himself was one of his best decisions ever.
