Universal sets ‘Jurassic World’ for summer 2015
The fourth installment of the “Jurassic Park” series is back on the schedule with Universal Pictures announcing Tuesday evening that “Jurassic World” in 3-D will bow on June 12, 2015.
Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two films in the series, will return to produce the movie with Colin Trevorrow (“Safety Not Guaranteed”) directing the action adventure based on the screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly.
Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley also will produce.

In May, Universal announced that it was delaying the release date of the movie, which at that time was slated for summer 2014. No specific reason was given for the delay but it appears that some script work has been done in the intervening months.
The studio, which just experienced a shakeup in its upper management, has remained bullish on the series. In April, it re-released the original “Jurassic Park” in 3-D, earning the already successful film an additional $45 million in box-office receipts.
In August, the film bowed in China, grossing $6.3 million on its opening day.
