The warrior: Army Capt. Karen Emma Walden (Meg Ryan), a medical evacuation helicopter pilot killed in action who might become the first woman to receive the Medal of Honor. Lt. Col. Nathaniel Serling (Denzel Washington) is tasked with determining whether she deserves the honor.
What she's fighting for: In life, Walden was on a mission to rescue the crew of a downed Black Hawk helicopter, facing off against the Iraqi infantry. In death, her legacy of bravery is on the line. |
