Coachella 2014: Watch OutKast, Arcade Fire and more online

Share

While attendees to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival can increasingly enjoy such lush accouterments as four-course meals and beauty studios, there are plenty of perks for those staying closer to home this weekend, including air conditioning and open seating at many in-demand L.A. coffeshops and cafes. There’s also the ability to watch a number of the fest’s name acts online and from the comfort of your home.

Coachella’s rather robust live stream returns in 2014, which for the first weekend will be broadcast on three different channels via YouTube. Top-billed artists such as OutKast, the Acrade Fire, Lorde, Duck Sauce and Pharrell Williams are just a few whose full sets will be airing on the site.

This means that you can take a screenshot of OutKast’s Andre 3000, post it to Instagram and your followers will never need to know you did it all while lying on your couch. Additionally, with approximately 30 artists streaming per day, there are plenty of lesser-known acts getting air time. Before today’s workday ends, for instance, you can catch the dreamy gloom-rock of the Dum Dum Girls and the intricate electro-pop arrangements of Wye Oak.

INTERACTIVE: Plan your Coachella schedule

While it’s far from complete -- the reunited Replacements are not as yet participating, and pity the poor artists who play before 3 p.m. -- many of Pop & Hiss’ top picks can be caught on the stream. A schedule, which is current as of Friday morning, is below, but check the official YouTube page for any last-minute adjustments.
