A bunch of A-list pop stars made a version of Kanye West’s ‘Famous’ video that’s safe for work

When Kanye West debuted his visual for “Famous,” in which he and a bevy of wax-like celebs laid in a bed nude, he received the reaction he was looking for. There was backlash, outrage and acclaim — basically, just another day at the office for the oft-polarizing performer.

Folks in L.A. dropped $25 a ticket, plus $15 more for parking, for entry to a world premiere event at the Forum late last month to see the 10-minute video in which the likes of West, wife Kim Kardashian, Caitlyn Jenner, Taylor Swift, Donald Trump, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Bill Cosby and George W. Bush lay in bed together, apparently naked.

Some of those who were depicted by likenesses were, understandably, peeved.

Ray J threw about the word “lawsuit,” and Trump made sure the public knew he wasn’t involved. Remarkably, people really thought West had the power to get Anna Wintour, Cosby and Bush to disrobe -- and a flack for the former president had to offer this TMI-worthy denial: “He is in much better shape.” Duly noted, Dubya.

None of it really mattered though, as we’ve spent the last few weeks talking about the visual. (And that’s all West really wants, right?)

A bunch of memes have already been shared across social media — the re-creation featuring Barbie and Ken dolls is a favorite — but BBC Radio 1 has taken it a step further.

The British broadcaster decided to make its own version of the video, except with fully clothed stars.

Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor, Troye Sivan, Cheryl Cole, Craig David and 5 Seconds of Summer all star in the very-safe-for-work remake.

What better way to distract yourself for a few minutes at work than watching Bieber gush to Cole about his “perfectly symmetrical face,” or Trainor use her appearance to plug her single.

It’s a fun but maybe pointless watch, and it won’t leave you as confused as West’s piece of art.
