R&B star Chris Brown is once again facing the prospect of jail time and, surprise, the artist isn’t keeping quiet about it.

Never shy about venting his frustrations on social media, Brown tweeted Monday night that he hopes his fans and supporters can see “the truth” after prosecutors revoked his probation in his 2009 conviction for beating Rihanna.

Brown will be back in court on Aug. 16. He could face up to four years in jail.

Judge James R. Brandlin ruled on Monday that Brown violated the terms of his probation after being involved in an alleged hit-and-run incident, reported L.A. Now. The fender-bender is said to have occurred on May 21. Brown is accused of rear-ending a woman’s Mercedes with his Range Rover on Barham Boulevard.

“Pray,” Brown tweeted before defending his actions regarding the accident in question.

The Times has detailed the report of the district attorney’s investigator and posted court documents. The unidentified woman and Brown pulled over to the side of the road after the crash, according to the filing. The driver of the Mercedes asked Brown for his driver’s license and insurance information as required by California law, but he produced neither, court documents say.

Then the events take a more complicated turn.

Brown was reported to have been with a passenger, who claimed ownership of the car the artist was driving. But instead of a license and insurance for the vehicle in question, what Brown’s passanger prodouced was an expired insurance card for a Lamborghini, according to court filings.

The driver of the Mercedes wrote in her accident report that she began taking pictures of the scene and the paperwork provided by Brown’s passenger. She wrote that this inspired Brown’s passenger to began screaming, “She took a picture!” Then, according to court documents, Brown tried to grab the camera from her.

“I got more money than you,” she alleged Brown screaming at her. The court papers are filled with profanity. The Mercedes driver writes that Brown continued to scream “some insulting nonsense for a while longer” and eventually “slammed a door and drove away fast and noisy.”

Prosecutors alleged Monday that two new misdemeanor charges of hit-and-run and driving without a license violate the terms of Brown’s five-year probation in the felony assault case.

Brown is pleading his case out of court.

“I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run,” he tweeted. “I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C’mon!!”

“My cross is heavy,” Brown continued, “but God gives me the strength to carry it.”
