At No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week? "Frozen," of course.
The soundtrack to the smash-hit Disney movie topped the album chart for the 10th time Wednesday, reflecting sales of 133,000 copies in the week ending April 13, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That brings the album's total sales since its release in November to 2.1 million.
That said, "Frozen" has some way to go before it challenges Adele's achievement with her album "21," which spent 24 weeks at No. 1 in 2011 and 2012.
Behind "Frozen," Pharrell Williams' "G I R L" jumped to No. 2 from the previous week's No. 7, a boost Caulfield attributes in part to recent high-profile appearances on "Saturday Night Live," "Good Morning America" and "CBS Sunday Morning." Williams also performed Saturday night at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
"She Looks So Perfect" by the Australian boy band 5 Seconds of Summer came in at No. 3, trailed by two very different rock groups: the Christian band MercyMe at No. 4 with "Welcome to the New" and the veteran L.A. metal act Black Label Society at No. 5 with "Catacombs of the Black Vatican."
