Southern California musicians will gain a new avenue for exposure with the arrival of "Studio A," a weekly television series spotlighting bands and performers from the region that is set to premiere March 4 at 10 p.m. on independent public TV station KCET and simulcast on KCSN-FM (88.5).

The show will consist of taped live performances and interview segments, and KCSN will simulcast the music at 10 p.m. on Friday nights when KCET replays each week's new show.
"Our collaboration with KCSN was a natural fit, as their commitment to independent and emerging artists was in sync with the programming goals for the series," series executive producer Juan Devis, who also is vice president of arts and culture programming at KCETLink, said in a statement. "We are excited to provide a multiplatform approach to enjoying this groundbreaking series."
"Studio A" will feature an "uninterrupted musical set, as well as the cultural stories from which these artists draw their inspiration, including historical and geographical influences," according to KCET's statement.
