Kendrick Lamar is taking his breakout debut, “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” on the road with his first world tour.

The Compton rapper, currently headlining a spring college trek with Steve Aoki, will take his good kid, m.A.A.d city world tour across the U.S. and Europe this summer.

Lamar is taking a break between his tour with Aoki, and his summer jaunt. After he wraps his spring trek May 4, his world tour launches the next day with a slot at the SunFest Music and Arts Festival in West Palm Beach, Fla. He is scheduled to hit a number of festivals,, including Governors Ball, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.

The upcoming trek runs through Aug 24 with a show at Staples Center on June 29.

Lamar’s Staples gig is part of the events taking place during the BET Experience at L.A. Live on June 28-30.

Early last year, the BET network announced plans to expand its popular awards show into a three-day destination festival, and revealed a deal with Anschutz Entertainment Group to bring the telecast to the glitzy L.A. Live complex.

Part of BET’s plans include a three-night concert series at Staples Center, which Beyoncé will launch. Lamar, along with his Top Dawg Entertainment cohort Schoolboy Q, Snoop Dogg and Miguel anchor Night 2, and R. Kelly, New Edition and the Jacksons close the series.

Lamar’s major label debut, “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B;/hip-hop albums chart and was a critic’s darling, landing on a number of “best of” lists last year, including the Times’.
