Watch Nine Inch Nails make their network TV debut with Jimmy Kimmel

Last night, Jimmy Kimmel hosted a plucky electronic rock quintet making its network television debut. The buzzed-about group played a sold-out show at the Troubadour recently, and on Kimmel’s show, they delivered their au courant, electro-R&B tune “All Time Low” with aplomb.

That band? Nine Inch Nails, who surprisingly had never played live on network TV before last night.

The group turned “All Time Low” into a sizzling, bluesy romp at its Hollywood performance, bolstered with some strong gospel-inspired backing vocalists.

The track was a highlight of NIN’s comeback album, “Hesitation Marks,” and the clip below proves the group can bend founder Trent Reznor’s vision into the darkest reaches of electronica -- and into more handmade, sweaty rock territory.

It’s the latest live-performance coup for Kimmel, who recently landed an Arcade Fire show on the eve of their new album, “Reflektor.” That show was broadcast as the band played atop the Capitol Records building to a jubilant crowd below.

NIN is set to play Staples Center Friday night in support of the album. It looks like these TV newbies are really going places.
