Rihanna talks Chris Brown and Drake in new GQ interview

Share

Rihanna dresses provocatively -- it’s the perennial dog-bites-man pop music story. And the Barbados-born singer certainly lives up to that reputation in a new GQ feature, posing for its cover wearing, well, not a whole lot.

But the actual article has a more novel tidbit of information, gleaned as the singer flacks her sultry and simmering new album, “Diamonds.” Writer Jay Bulger (in his first GQ feature - that’s a heck of an assignment!) trails Ms. Fenty for a night of clubbing and along the way gets her first candid comments about the infamous Chris Brown-Drake brawl that erupted at a New York nightclub in June.

In that scuffle, Brown sent a bottle of champagne to the table of rival MC Drake, to which Drake sent back a note implying he was having relations with “the love of your life.”

“There’s no proof of that being for my love. That’s my answer to that question,” she told Bulger.

The night veers closer to the dramatic as Brown turns up at the nightclub they’re attending, but all in all the story captures the side of Rihanna she most wants to present right now - sexual prowess, emotionally reserved, a glint of the manic hiding behind a curtain of unattainability.
