Citing “circumstances beyond our control,” the Jazz Bakery announced that the Robert Glasper Experiment has canceled its upcoming appearance at the Angel City Jazz Festival, which is set to kick off Friday, Oct. 4.

Glasper was scheduled to perform on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Zipper Hall at the Colburn School in downtown L.A. in a concert presented by the Bakery, which co-produces the festival with Angel City Arts.

The festival has announced that the Terence Blanchard Quintet will perform in Glasper’s place on the same date and at the same venue, with tickets set at $35 and $20 for students.

Blanchard’s appearance marks another chance for local jazz fans to catch the celebrated trumpeter, who performed two nights at the Mint earlier this month after the release of his 2013 album “Magnetic.”

Refund information is available at www.jazzbakery.org, but the Angel City Jazz Festival has announced that those who elect to keep their tickets for Blanchard’s date will receive a ticket for another concert on the festival’s lineup scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6.

A multi-act date at the Ford Theater, the concert lineup features the Richard Sears Group with Albert “Tootie” Heath, Kneebody, the Yosvany Terry Quintet and the Greg Osby Group with Anat Cohen.
