'Dark Knight' Christian Bale's lady sidekick: Sibi Bale
Like the Dark Knight/Bruce Wayne, Christian Bale is a real-life man of mystery. Averse to personal publicity, he is well-known for not wanting to discuss his private life.
"I like my privacy, and I don't like answering personal questions, he once told the Telegraph.
With this week's report of assault charges, filed against Bale by his mother and sister, that may not work. Now everyone wants to talk to Bale about a personal incident that has become water-cooler chatter. And revelations surfacing Wednesday that the family row may have been over something said to his wife has also put the media focus on her.
So who is Sibi Bale? Standing, usually smiling, next to Bale -- always in a simple and classic black ensemble -- the tall, brunette beauty with long, center-parted hair, is herself a bit of a cipher. Like Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise (in their early days), Sibi is a lovely arm-piece for Bale at all his premieres and personal appearances.
Here's what we know about Sibi.
Her real name is Sandra Blazic, and she's a Chicago-born indie film producer, former make-up artist and model who worked as an assistant to Bale's pal Winona Ryder. She's listed as Ryder's assistant in her IMDb.com credits on "Girl, Interrupted."
She met Christian at one of Winona's barbecues during the making of "Little Women," in 1994. The couple married in 2000.
From then on, Sibi, now 38, traveled with Christian to film locations, premieres (like "The Prestige" in 2002, above) and the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, in photo at left.
The couple had a daughter in 2005. When Sibi was pregnant, the couple was mum on the impending birth and has remained low-key. One of the few times Bale spoke about being a dad was to USA Weekend, saying simply, "It's the best thing that's ever happened to me."
It's hard to realize that Bale wasn't always a highly paid actor. Just a few years ago, he and Sibi had financial difficulties that Bale has only recently spoken about. In 2003, he wasn't making enough money to support his family and faced a house repossession.
He told Details, "I don't believe that there's an actor alive who hasn't been in that position -- and in that position many years after people recognize you and have a very wrong impression of what they imagine your life to be like."
And he also admitted he took roles to get out of debt. "I won't tell what [movie] it was, but it was following closely on the heels of [the repossession]. It ended up that I found a great many experiences from it, but the motivation was completely keeping the head above water."
Through it all, Sibi has been by his side.

Christian could not have met his wife in 2000 while filming Little Women. The movie came out in 1994. Also, his dad dies in 2003, not 2005.

I personally think the movie he had to do for money was Harsh Times. I mean, it was so crazy that it might have attracted him but it wasn't cerebral in the slightest bit. Very thuggish and not very deep. He also didn't play the main role.

she is not a real model, being in kevin's book doesn't make her a model. she prob met kevin through ryder as well. she's not a producer either - she has no credits on IMDB and as a makeup artist, thats BS too. a lot of the facts in the story are wrong. anyway, christian is getting a raw deal, it's a shame that people are so stupid to believe all of this mess. poor christian

If Chris is as difficult to get along with as everyone keeps reporting, which I doubt is the case, I'd have to commend her for sticking with him through thick and thin... she must actually love him or something...

lulu, you're right, she was born in bosnia and i believe came over to the states as a child or teenager and lived in chicago. they also didn't meet til 1999 and only dated about 6 months before getting married. la times, you need to get your facts straight :)

It wasn't machinist, he's talked in interviews about how that film took him out of his depression because he wasn't offered any roles he liked. It was either Laural canyon, equilibrium or reign of fire.

The timeline on this piece of article is complete bullshit. The Prestige was realeased just a couple yrs back, not when i was in high school ~Little Women was released more than 10 yrs ago, not, well, when i was in high school

Way to read! The article clearly states he MET his wife in 1994, and MARRIED her in 2000.
I also see no mention of his father's death, but rather a mention of his BECOMING a father himself in 2005.

One correction to the facts about how Christian and Sibi met. 1. She didn't work for Ryder when Little Women was made. 2. In 2002 - I saw Christian on the Carson Daly show and when asked about his long hair and beard - he said he wore it that way because it's the way it was when he met his wife and then he said it was when he was making the TV movie, Mary, Mother of Jesus in 1999.

I didnt think I would like the new joker charachter, I was happy with Jack Nichalas.

It's nuts that people are so worried about when he meet his wife. All I have read is he did meet her around 1994 or so and they got married 2000. He likes to kept things to themself, the press dosent even really know his daughters name. Yes he is a great actor and goodlooking but he has rights to have a privet life. Injoy his movies respect his chocies. He is just a guy trying to make a lifing at something he loves. One more thing who has not gotten in to it with family? give the guy a break.
