'Rhubarb' | 1951( Wide World Photo )
The purr-formance: An eccentric tycoon adopts a cat, an orange tabby played by the legendary Orangey, that is just as curmudgeonly as he is. Upon his death, the tycoon leaves his fortune (including a beleaguered baseball team) to Rhubarb. The animal becomes mascot to the team, which begins to win.
The cat's meow: Orangey gets the chance to act streetwise, pampered, serene and lovable. And his final scene is a hoot. |
