Snub: Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks & Max von Sydow in 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close'( Francois Duhamel / Warner Bros. )
Though it's not surprising that Thomas Horn, the 13-year-old star of "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," received no Golden Globe nod for his big-screen debut, some expected the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. to recognize Max von Sydow's performance in the supporting actor category or to capitalize on the star power of Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks. The film, which tells the story of a young boy searching for clues about his father, who perished in the Sept. 11 attacks, may have hurt its chances for a Golden Globe nomination by cutting it too close to voting deadlines.
