2003: Honorable mentions( Miramax / Pixar / Warner Bros. )
Two action characters, each with awesome fight scenes and ridiculous odds, took center stage this year.
- Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman brought the Bride to life in "Kill Bill," which included one of the longest, bloodiest fight scenes ever.
- Keanu Reeves' Neo (along with Hugo Weaving's Agent Smith) starred in the second and third installments of the "Matrix" trilogy in one calendar year.
- Sandwiched between those violent characters' films was "Finding Nemo," which featured not only Marlin and Nemo, but also Ellen DeGeneres' scene-stealing and forgetful Dory in an undersea quest to reunite father and son.
