Celebrity relationship reruns
'The Notebook'
By Elizabeth Snead, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
What is it with all these celebrity relationship reruns?
Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman ended their five-year relationship a few months ago with a public statement. Their fans were horrified. ”But they were so perfect for each, with those hilarious "Im youknowwhating Matt Damon and Ben Affleck videos!” Well, what do you know? Last week Jimmy and Sarah were caught red-faced by TMZ video cameras on a dinner date. And they were holding hands.
Salma Hayek and French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault called off their engagement shortly after their daughter was born earlier this year. But wait un moment, s’il vous plait. They sure looked happy and in love last week in Paris at a Balenciaga fashion show and doing tea at the Plaza Athenee with their baby, Valentina.
Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, who played the adorable star-crossed lovers in “The Notebook,” (pictured) are also reportedly reviving their two-year romance, much to the delight of Nicolas Sparks’ fans everywhere.
Even the on-again-off-again legally divorced couple Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker are giving it another go after the former Blink 182 musician and Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) survived the plane crash that killed four others onboard.
Is everybody getting back together? These couples join the Redux Club of famous couples who’ve tried – and many who’ve failed - to give love a second chance.
Love reruns don't always work out. But it's worth a shot.
