Sambora, 48, failed a series of sobriety tests.
Bon Jovi lead guitarist
Richie Sambora has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Laguna Beach police said today.
Sambora, 48, failed a series of sobriety tests administered to him after being pulled over south of downtown Laguna Beach shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday, said Sgt. Jason Kravetz.
The musician chose a blood test over a Breathalyzer test, Kravetz said. His blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit of 0.08% but a specific level would not be available for at least a week, he said.
Officers observed Sambora in a black Hummer straddling lanes and pulled him over. The arrest for the misdemeanor took place without incident and Sambora, who was described as "very cooperative," was later released on his own recognizance, Kravetz said.
He is due in court for a hearing in the case on May 7.
