'Cavemen' kills the market for commercials-to-series
Sorry, FreeCreditReport.com guy. All apologies, Progressive Insurance lady. Your dreams of moving from the commercial ghetto to the esteemed heights of network series have forever been quashed. Why? Blame those Geico cavemen. They were popular when they were pitching cheap car insurance, but their leap to ABC comedy series had audience members seething before the first episode ever aired. It didn't take long before the show was extinct. Maybe ABC should have gone with the lizard?
