Step Brothers

The relationship between siblings and even step-siblings has intrigued writers for centuries. Imagine Cinderella without those evil stepsisters, or Jane Austens Pride and Prejudice without the five diverse Bennett sisters. Mario Puzo explored the explosive link between Mafia siblings in The Godfather and Tennessee Williams offered examinations of the complex dynamics between siblings in his landmark plays The Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named Desire.
And, of course, the connection between brothers and sisters has been an important plot catalyst in both film and television, including the new ribald comedy Step Brothers. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly play perennial Peter Pan slackers who become stepbrothers and are even forced to share a room when their parents marry.
