Carpenter's film was credited in the 2005 remake, but Carpenter has only acknowledged "Rio Bravo" in his many interviews on the film.

'Assault on Precinct 13' (2005)

Plot: A crime lord (Laurence Fishburne) and a group of policemen, led by Ethan Hawke, are trapped in a police precinct by crooked cops intent on killing the crime boss.

Remake of: John Carpenter's original "Assault on Precinct 13," which was itself a loose remake of Howard Hawks' film "Rio Bravo." Carpenter's film was credited in the 2005 remake, but Carpenter has only acknowledged "Rio Bravo" in his many interviews on the film.
