“The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles” marks the 50th anniversary of the Fab Four’s 1964 appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” with classic clips and new performances by Eurythmics, Alicia Keys and others. 8 p.m. CBS

Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson are here to pump — clap! — you up in Michael Bay’s 2013 actioner “Pain & Gain.” Ed Harris and Tony Shalhoub also star. 8 p.m. Epix

Fear not, or rather, fear, “The Walking Dead” are still walking and still dead when the hit horror-drama returns with new episodes. 9 p.m. AMC

An English lass (Lydia Wilson) rises above her station in a new adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s “The Making of a Lady.” Linus Roache, James D’Arcy and Joanna Lumley also star. 10 p.m. KOCE

The auto-centric series “Top Gear” comes roaring back for its 21st season. 8:30 p.m. BBC America

The documentary “Questioning Darwin” includes a discussion of the naturalist’s own concerns about the religious ramifications of his now widely accepted theory of evolution. 9 p.m. HBO

You shall not overcome: “Independent Lens” presents “Spies of Mississippi,” about a covert government agency set up during the civil rights-era to derail desegregation in the Magnolia State. 10 p.m. KOCE

TUESDAY

She’s freaky, she’s geeky, she’s Linda Cardellini. The former “Freaks & Geeks” and “ER” actress guest stars as Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel) wild-child sister on a new “New Girl.” 9 p.m. Fox

Who were those guys? “American Experience” tells the true-life tale of the outlaw duo played by Paul Newman and Robert Redford in the 1969 western “Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid.” 9 p.m. KOCE

In 2011, it was “Syria Undercover.” In 2012, “The Battle for Syria” and in 2013, “Syria Behind the Lines.” Now, in 2014, “Frontline” presents “Syria’s Second Front,” its fourth investigation of the continuing crisis in the war-torn Middle East nation. 10 p.m. KOCE

Pleased to eat you: Denis O’Hare (“American Horror Story,” “True Blood”) guest stars as an alleged cannibal on a Sam Raimi-directed episode of the Greg Kinnear courtroom drama “Rake.” 9 p.m. Fox

There must be “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” in this Valentine’s Day special featuring accounts of romance gone horribly. Wendy Williams hosts. 10 p.m. Investigation Discovery

“Jenny McCarthy’s Dirty Sexy Funny” finds the former Playmate and current co-host of “The View” sharing the stage with a bevy of female comics in Las Vegas. 11 p.m. Epix

Beyoncé Knowles, Anika Noni Rose and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson are your “Dreamgirls” in this 2006 adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy also star. 8 p.m. ABC
