If anyone could bring some glamour to the glamourless life of humanitarian aid workers, it might be Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The A-list couple are making their first joint producing effort with an HBO series about aid workers, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The trade publication reported that the as-yet-untitled drama will follow the lives of aid workers as they travel to hazardous areas and help the less fortunate, as well as the political challenges faced by international aid organizations.

Jolie and Pitt will serve as executive producers, along with Scott Burns, who will write the pilot, according to the Hollywood Reporter. (Burns co-wrote “The Bourne Ultimatum” and was a producer of “An Inconvenient Truth.”) It reported that Jolie has been interested in just such a project since her 2003 feature on relief workers, “Beyond Borders.”

Jolie’s breakthrough starring role was in the biopic “Gia,” about a troubled model, which aired on HBO and earned her a Golden Globe.

A spokeswoman for HBO did not immediately return a phone call seeking confirmation.
