Pedigree 'The Longshots' Based on a true story, “The Longshots” was written by Nick Santora, a former “Sopranos” writer, and directed by the Limp Bizkit guy himself, Fred Durst. 'The House Bunny' Anna Faris came up with the idea and sold it to Adam Sandler’s production company, Happy Madison. The screenwriters of “Legally Blonde” wrote it and Fred Wolf, a former head writer for “Saturday Night Live,” directed it. WINNER: Tough call, but the nonfictional aspects of “Longshots” and the presence of a guy who once put words in Tony Soprano’s mouth command much respect.
