NBC released its midseason schedule for 2012, and missing from it are "Community" and "Prime Suspect."
Both ratings-starved but critically praised series have been pulled from the schedule. A spokesman from NBC has told me that "Prime Suspect" "is still under consideration but nothing definitive has been decided." It's doubtful the show will be picked up for the rest of the season, despite the fact it's getting better each week. NBC will likely air the initial 13 episodes and then say good-bye.
NBC says "Community" will be back at some point, and there are plenty of new episodes left to air. The network hasn't given a solid return date, however. "No word yet," Danny Pudi told me Monday night. "But we're hopeful it is just short-term!"
Few NBC series are pulling in huge numbers, so the network could do what it did with "Chuck" by keeping "Community" around and building good will with its small but vocal fan base. Make sure you let the network know your feelings on its website and social media sites.
