This year’s Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on Sept. 20, marking a return to fall as well as a return to the traditional Sunday night airing.

Last year, the Emmys were in August and aired on a Monday night so as not to conflict with NBC’s coverage of NFL football. With the 67th Emmys airing on Fox (the awards rotate among four of the five major broadcast networks) they can return to the traditional Sunday night home.

Despite airing on a Monday last year, the awards, hosted by Seth Meyers, drew 15.6 million viewers, the second biggest audience for the show in the last eight years.

This year’s ceremony will once again be held at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

The Creative Arts Emmys will be held a week before, on Sept. 12. This year they will be televised on the cable channel FXX, with an air date to be determined.

Hosts and producers of the shows have not been announced.
