Donald Trump got the presidential nod from the Republican National Convention. But all that late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel could talk about was “the speech.”

“If any of these jokes sound old, it’s because Michelle Obama used them in 2008,” quipped “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon as he took aim at the speech Trump’s wife, Melania, delivered Monday at the conventionm, parts of which were plagiarized from a 2008 speech by Michelle Obama.

Imitating Donald Trump, Fallon added, “In fact, Michelle owes Melania an apology for building a time machine and stealing Melania’s best lines.”

Kimmel on his “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show also made fun of the debacle: “Melania Trump gave the speech of Michelle Obama’s life last night,” he joked.

His comic onslaught continued: “Melania did not plagiarize. Repeating words is how she learned English.”

Referencing Whitney Houston’s version of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” Kimmel said, “Melania did not plagiarize Michelle’s speech. she covered it. It was a cover version of Michelle’s speech.”
