Start your engines. Disney has announced the premiere date for "Mickey and the Roadster Racers," its upcoming show following the car-racing adventures of Mickey Mouse and his friends.
Mickey's newest show will debut Jan. 15 on both Disney Junior and the Disney Channel, with two more new episodes airing the following day. Episodes for the preschooler-aimed show will also be available via the Disney Junior app and Disney Junior VOD beginning Jan. 15, as well as on iTunes on Jan. 16.
In addition to the fun (and funny) races held in their hometown, Hot Dog Hills, and around the world, "Mickey and the Roadster Racers" will also highlight Minnie and Daisy solving problems for clients of their business, Happy Helpers. Don't worry: Pluto, Goofy and Donald are also part of the cast.
Real-life race car drivers Jimmie Johnson, Danica Patrick and Jeff Gordon will voice recurring characters Jiminy Johnson, Danni Sue and Gordon Gear, respectively. Jay Leno, Tim Gunn, Gordon Ramsay, Hoda Kotb, Peter Serafinowicz, Jane Leeves, Fred Willard, Hector Elizondo, Tony Shalhoub, Kate Micucci, Tia Carrere and Patton Oswalt are among the announced guest stars.
"Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" alums Rob LaDuca is executive producer, Mark Seidenberg is co-executive producer and supervising story editor and Thomas Hart is story editor. "Mickey and the Roadster Racers" is a production of Disney Television Animation.
The multiplatform "Mickey and the Roadster Racers" experience will begin Dec. 25, with short videos and mini-games made available daily on the Disney Junior App counting down until the show's premiere.
