General Krell continues his relentless assault on the planet of Umbara in "The General," the latest episode of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" debuting at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 on Cartoon Network.
It's the second of four episodes about the attack on Umbara, and was directed by Walter Murch, who won Oscars for both sound and picture editing of "The English Patient." (He also has an Oscar for his sound editing of "Apocalypse Now.") The A longtime friend of George Lucas worked with the "Star Wars" creator on the films "THX 1138" and "American Graffiti."
Watch two clips from "The General" in the player above (the first two there). Here's what LucasFilm has to say about the episode:
The fierce General Krell orders Captain Rex and the clone troopers of the 501st to conquer a heavily fortified Umbaran airbase. It is absolutely essential the clones succeed, for the rest of the planetary invasion depends on it. Krell will accept nothing less than victory, but the mission seems impossible -- the clones must march overland through hostile territory and monstrously advanced enemy technology. Unless the clones can use their ingenuity to counter these threats, it will be a certain suicide mission.
