ABC announces summer schedule with ‘The Whispers,’ ‘BattleBots’

ABC’s summer schedule will include the return of several favorites, including “The Bachelorette” and “Celebrity Wife Swap,” as well as new series “Celebrity Family Feud,” “BattleBots,” “500 Questions” and “The Whispers.”

“The Bachelorette” will kick off its 11th season on May 18. For the first time, there will be two bachelorettes, Kaitlyn and Britt.

The game show “500 Questions,” hosted by Richard Quest, will premiere at 8 p.m. May 20 and air for nine consecutive nights, with the season finale on May 28. Contestants will compete to answer 500 tricky trivia questions without getting three wrong in a row.

“Celebrity Wife Swap” premieres immediately after “500 Questions” on May 20 at 9 p.m.

The fifth season of “Extreme Weight Loss” premieres at 9 p.m. May 26.

The new scripted series “The Whispers,” about an unseen force manipulating children to perform dangerous activities, premieres at 10 p.m. June 1.

The third season of “Mistresses” premieres at 9 p.m. June 18, with actress Jennifer Esposito joining the cast.

Regular “Family Feud” host Steve Harvey also hosts the new “Celebrity Family Feud,” which debuts at 8 p.m. June 21. The new game show “BattleBots,” featuring homemade robots fighting against each other to win their creators cash prizes, premieres right after at 9 p.m.

The new season of the police drama “Rookie Blue,” starring Missy Peregrym, returns on June 25.

And finally, the second season of “Bachelor in Paradise” premieres on two consecutive nights, with the premiere episode airing at 8 p.m. Aug. 2 before moving to its regular time slot on Aug. 3 at 8 p.m.
