Network television programmers, seeking to halt the flight of viewers to other entertainment options while staying relevant to younger audiences, increasingly are turning to charismatic African American entertainers to host daytime shows. Here’s a look at prominent black celebrities in today’s daytime slots.

Cedric the Entertainer
