'American Idol' to return on Fox after ratings-challenged season

'American Idol' will return to Fox despite a steep ratings fall

The song will go on.

Despite a challenging season that drew some of its lowest-ratings ever, "American Idol" is returning to Fox for its 14th season.

The talent/variety show has already announced that national auditions will kick off June 18 in Minneapolis and then continue on to cities including New Orleans, Nashville and San Francisco.

Still to be determined is whether any of the celebrity judges, including Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban, or host Ryan Seacrest will be returning.
