‘Big Brother’ renewed by CBS for two more seasons

CBS’ “Big Brother” is going to keep watching for a while.

The summer reality series that isolates a group of people in a custom-made house as they are filmed 24 hours a day has been renewed for two more editions to be broadcast in the summers of 2015 and 2016.

“Big Brother,” which is hosted by Julie Chen, has been a solid ratings hit for the network during the summer months. The 90-minute finale of this season airs tonight, and one of the last three remaining houseguests will be awarded $500,000.

Last season the show attracted controversy because of racially insensitive and inflammatory remarks made by some of the participants. Caleb Reynolds, a contestant on this season’s edition, reportedly made homophobic and racially inflamatory comments on social media before he entered the “Big Brother” house.
