‘Breaking Bad’ gets animated and Disney-fied in online short

Share

“Breaking Bad” ended its run in 2013, but apparently, a lot of us aren’t ready to let it go.

How else to explain the popularity of “Do You Want to Build a Meth Lab?,” a musical version of the AMC drama hit sung in the style of a song from Disney’s 2013 hit, “Frozen.”

No, not “Let it Go” -- the other song you’ve had stuck in your head: “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”

This version of the song, created by Amanda Hill, Zack James, Stephen Kardynal, Evan Cloyd and Alex Negrete was posted on the Animeme YouTube channel over the weekend.

In it, Walter White plays the Anna role while Jesse Pinkman plays the hidden and tortured Elsa part, minimal singing and a lot of emoting.

Be warned, for anyone not completely finished with “Breaking Bad,” there are a few spoilers. But people who haven’t seen “Frozen” should be fine.

It’s OK to be skeptical, but it really is hard to resist lyrics such as: “Do you want to build a meth lab? / Or dodge some of Gus’ calls? / I think some cook time is overdue / I’ve started talking to the money in the walls.”

Watch the video, then try to remember the song’s original lyrics. It’ll be harder than you think.
