FX renews ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ for Seasons 13 and 14

The forecast at FXX will remain sunny.

On Friday the network renewed long-running sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” for Seasons 13 and 14. The renewal means it will tie “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” as the longest-running live-action comedy series.

That’s about the only thing “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” has in common with that wholesome slice of ‘50s Americana.

“Sunny” -- starring Charlie Day, Danny DeVito, Kaitlin Olson, Rob McElhenney and Glenn Howerton -- centers on a group of depraved, underachieving friends who hang out at a South Philly bar called Paddy’s Pub.

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” recently concluded its 11th season and will return to FXX for Season 12 in early 2017.

It premiered on FX in 2005 and moved to sister network FXX in its ninth season.
