George Lopez has gone into damage control mode, explaining how he wound up arrested in a Canadian casino Thursday after passing out drunk.

“Tied one on last night,” the comedian said in a statement. “Not feeling great this morning. I was trying to sleep it off, unfortunately, it was on the casino floor.”

Lopez was arrested for public intoxication at Caesars Windsor in Ontario after officers found him passed out on the floor of the casino bar, TMZ reported. He had performed at the casino just prior to his arrest.

The report said that no charges were filed against Lopez, who was released and is scheduled to perform Friday night.

The arrest came days before the March 6 premiere of “Saint George,” which stars Lopez as a successful Mexican American entrepreneur who is trying to deal with aging and dating after a divorce from his “all-American” Anglo wife.
