Kevin Spacey snubbed Toronto Mayor Rob Ford backstage at “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last week, and the mayor and his brother are giving YouTube an earful.

The mayor and his brother, Doug Ford, who is on the Toronto City Council, co-host their very own YouTube show, “Ford Nation,” which has been in production since February after a short-lived (one episode) life on local TV last year. The series, which boasts cable-access production value, features the Brothers Ford discussing topics of interest to the voters of Toronto. In their latest episode, they talk at length about their trip to Hollywood to appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Though Ford wasn’t officially a guest on Kimmel’s show until March 3, he actually made a cameo appearance on the much-hyped post-Oscars edition of Kimmel’s show on March 2, which had Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey as a guest.

Spacey, who knows a thing or two about playing politicians from his role on the Netflix series “House of Cards,” apparently did not want to take pictures or mingle with people backstage. That was something that rubbed the Fords, especially Doug, the wrong way.

Doug started off praising Spacey as a great actor, an opinion the non-movie-watching Rob couldn’t back up. “I wouldn’t know him if I ran him over,” Rob said.

“In my opinion, he’s an arrogant SOB,” Doug continued. “Any actor that makes a living off the people that watch his shows.... He wouldn’t take a picture with anyone? We were told you can’t take a picture and you can’t speak to him. Who does this character think he is? Does he think he’s God? That he’s up there? That no common folk can take a picture with him?”

“I don’t even know him,” Rob added.

“Then, you know what’s amazing?” Doug added. “He goes on the show and he changes on a dime.... Unbelievable.”

Doug closed the segment with a direct message to Kevin Spacey: “You know, Kevin, why don’t you get off your high horse and be real and take pictures with people and uh ... that’s my opinion of someone like that.”

By contrast, Doug had high praise for their host, Kimmel, who David said would take pictures with anyone.

But not even Doug and Rob could agree on exactly how the mayor’s much mocked appearance on the show went over.

Though both seemed mostly content, Rob said, “They didn’t let me promote Toronto enough, that’s all. That’s the only thing.”

However, Doug’s assessment of Kimmel was, “He’s a man of his word because he did a whole segment on Toronto.”

Enough Toronto or not enough Toronto? Not even the Ford brothers can agree.

But lest you think “Ford Nation” will return to being a sleepy forum for civic issues, think again! Doug also informed viewers that Kimmel would be appearing on “Ford Nation” soon. (Something Kimmel had agreed to when Ford was on “JKL”).

“Jimmy, you’re coming to our town, now. Our turf. So the rules are going to change a little bit,” Doug warned.
