Independent Lens The documentary “An Honest Liar” profiles James “The Amazing” Randi, who has dedicated himself to exposing charlatans who have used tricks and cons to dupe and defraud unsuspecting victims. 10 p.m. KOCE and 11 p.m. KPBS

Only the Dead See the End of War In 2003, war correspondent Michael Ware traveled to Baghdad during the invasion, where he proceeded to shoot hundreds of hours of hand-held footage over the next seven years. From that mountain of material, Ware and Oscar-winning director Bill Gutentag fashioned this taut and harrowing documentary. 9 p.m. HBO
