Steven Colbert, right, with Vice President Joe Biden, is one of several former cast members to use their stint on the "The Daily Show" as a springboard for their careers. His own series "The Colbert Report" runs in the timeslot following "The Daily Show" and has twisted the fake-news concept by creating a satirical character modeled after prominent right-wing media figures. While "The Colbert Report" is probably the best written comedy/talk show on television, it's sometimes hard to differentiate between what's real and what's parody. Colbert's best segment: "The Word" a well-crafted commentary that skewers perceptions of select issues.
