Even among what has become a very crowded Sunday night, funny women stood out.

This Sunday brought Amy Poehler and Tina Fey back to the Golden Globes and “Girls” back to HBO. Plagued with controversial pasts, both shows seem to have gained a brighter sheen and a new maturity. Or maybe we’re just all getting used to them.

Have the Globes finally moved past being the punch line of awards season? Can “Girls” move past fevered discussions of nudity and weird sex?
