The Dickens you say! An evening of adaptations of “A Christmas Carol” kicks off with the 1970 musical “Scrooge” starring Albert Finney and Alec Guinness. 5 p.m. TCM

“The X Factor” crowns its latest champion in a two-hour season finale. Mario Lopez hosts. 8 p.m. Fox

Hugh Jackman is your wolverine of ceremonies — sorry, “master” of ceremonies — for “Christmas in Washington 2013.” Backstreet Boys, Sheryl Crow and “Pitch Perfect’s” Anna Kendrick perform. 8 p.m. TNT

Peace on Earth, good will toward men? It happened on a World War I battlefield, a real-life Christmas miracle that gets the musical treatment in the Pulitzer Prize-winning opera “Silent Night.” 9 p.m. KOCE

We’re off to see “The Wizard of Oz” and then we’re off to see it again with back-to-back airings of the beloved 1939 musical fantasy starring Judy Garland. 7 and 9:15 p.m. TNT

Over 150 singers and musicians will make a joyful noise at the “Chapman University Wassail Holiday Special,” the 50th edition of the school’s annual Christmas concert. 8 p.m. KCET
