‘Two and a Half Men’ will add a lady in Season 11

First Charlie Sheen left, then Angus T. Jones, but Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher won’t be facing an empty house as “Two and a Half Men” enters its 11th season. They’ll be gaining a lady.

According to Deadline, the new season will feature a new character, as yet uncast, who will play Charlie Harper’s long-lost daughter. (That’s Sheen’s character). She’ll show up at the house looking for her father and eventually move in with the two bachelors.

With the complete departure of Jones from the cast (he appeared only sporadically in the last season), Cryer is the only cast member left from the original trio.

Both Sheen’s and Jones’ exits were high-profile, with Sheen going out in a blaze of glory fighting with both the series creator, Chuck Lorre, and the studio, Warner Bros. Television.

Jones, meanwhile, was seen trashing the series in a recorded interview for a Christian website. The young actor called the series “filth” and urged viewers to stop watching. After issuing an apology, Jones finished the 10th season and then departed. His character, Jake, has joined the Army and been shipped to Japan. Jones, who is attending college in real life, is expected to make occasional appearances on the show.

Adding a new child character in the later seasons of a sitcom isn’t new. In fact, it was practically a cliche in the 1980s, when sitcom classics such as “Diff’rent Strokes,” “Family Ties,” “Family Matters,” “The Cosby Show,” “Married... With Children” and “Growing Pains” all added new young kids in their later seasons.
