Want to be a Kardashian? Kris Jenner starts talk show buzz

Share

It’s come to this: Kardashian czar Kris Jenner has launched a contest to find new family members to add to her cost-effective brood.

To a degree, anyway. So don’t put a “K” in front of your name just yet.

The matriarch of the Kardashian clan -- and newly minted grandma to compass-proof North West -- is just weeks away from launching her talk show, “Kris,” and she’s going the extra mile to drum up interest: a viewer contest seeking someone who “captures the spirit, strength, love and entrepreneurial attitude of the Jenner-Kardashian family.”

The winner will experience a day in the life of the reality dynasty -- which got us thinking what that might entail. Maybe an hour flying model planes with papa Bruce? Talking Kim into hiring a private investigator dude to spy on Kanye? Posing for one of their infamous holiday card portraits?

Stop the fantasies.

It seems winners will only have access to the overseers -- a lunch with Bruce (“so he can offer some ‘fatherly’ advice”) and a spa treatment with Kris -- as part of the robust prize-package. Oh, and those without money-making potential need not apply. Really, they’re looking for applicants with entrepreneurial know-how.

But will the flashy prize be enough to give the show some legs? The 20th Television-produced talk show is only in the trial-run stages, with a six-week summer test, a tactic that worked last year for “Real Housewives” star Bethenny Frankel, whose show returns in the fall.

Even so, the daytime talker arena is a crowded one, and has already pushed aside recent entrants Jeff Probst and Ricki Lake.

Jenner’s L.A.-based show will premiere on select Fox Stations, including KTTV in Los Angeles, on July 15.
