BOROUGH PARK, NY (WPIX)—A Borough Park man known locally and on the Internet as the "Flying Rabbi," is taking Jimmy Kimmel to court after the the late-night talk show host featured him in a comedic spoof of Lebron James.
The short that ran in August on Jimmy Kimmel Live, pokes fun at the basketball superstar's consultation with Rabbi Yishayahu Yosef Pinto, who often advises the stars.
Sandek has a solid YouTube and Facebook platform thanks to comic videos of him doing everything from giving song-laden, spontaneous lessons in life on the streets of Brooklyn, to making informal commercials for musicians and businesses he supports.
Sandek doesn't agree with those who might find what he does humorous, however, and told the New York Post, "It has caused me difficulty and pain. Now they think I'm a joke, a comedian."
It is unclear how much Sondik is now seeking in damages.
