SOMERVILLE, N.J. (AP) — A judge has ruled prosecutors in a case stemming from a fatal car crash involving a former "Melrose Place" actress can seek the identity of a person who claimed on a New Jersey newspaper's website he was a witness and authorities were "lying about the facts."

Tuesday's ruling allows prosecutors to order The Star-Ledger of Newark's NJ.com website to turn over the information of the reader who posted the comments.

Prosecutors say TV and movie actress Amy Locane-Bovenizer was driving drunk at the time of a June 2010 crash that killed a Montgomery woman. She has pleaded not guilty.

The 39-year-old Hopewell resident appeared in the 1990s in the original "Melrose Place" television series.

Her lawyer says the website poster was her husband. Prosecutors say it's important to verify whether the poster really was a crash witness.
