Reading by 9 is a catalyst in developing partnerships with business, civic, education, government, media and philanthropic organizations in support of child literacy. The commitment, monetary contributions and in-kind support of Reading by 9's partners have resulted in the following accomplishments

Books

•	More than 4.8 million new and gently used books have been donated to public schools throughout Southern California.

Literacy Resources

•	Annual parent reading guides in English and Spanish containing articles, book lists and tips reach 1.9 million parents annually.
•	A toll-free customer service line and Web site respond to thousands of users seeking literacy information.

Public Awareness

•	Annual print and broadcast public awareness campaigns.
•	Public service announcements promoting literacy produced and broadcast by English and Spanish radio and television stations.

Programs for Educators

•	More than 80 elementary school principals participated in a two-year professional development initiative designed to improve student reading skills.
•	More than 12,000 teachers attended Reading by 9 conferences on reading research and instructional strategies.
