Band of Outsiders NYC flagship to feature Milk Bar cookie window

Share

Scott Sternberg’s Band of Outsiders brand announced today that when its New York City flagship store bows on Wooster Street this fall it will include an outpost of the Momofuku Milk Bar that will vend cookies and other edible treats from one of the store’s street windows.

According to the announcement, the Milk Bar Wooster street window will offer all of its classics (think bagel bombs, cake truffles and cereal milk) “with an emphasis on cookies.”

It’s not surprising given that Sternberg is an avowed cookieophile (with a cookie blog, even!) and has long collaborated with Milk Bar’s pastry chef, founder and owner Christina Tosi to create custom cookies to give to guests at his fashion week runway shows.

It’s also far from the Band master’s first collaboration in the culinary arena; last month he became the fifth designer to partner with Starbucks as part of its designer mug series, and he designed a handful of cookie cutters (including sunglasses and necktie shapes) as part of a Neiman Marcus/Target holiday collaboration a few years back.

Band of Outsiders’ first U.S. bricks-and-mortar store store is slated to open at 72 Wooster Street in New York City sometime this fall.

Somehow, the upcoming run of shows at New York Fashion Week in September feels a whole lot tastier.

Compost cookie, anyone?
